Beth Marshall Visits Cantnitz and Stralsund, Germany

Mark and Beth nee Wessel Marshall, and daughter, Sheila Watts, visited the home villages of Beth's ancestors in Cantnitz (Mecklenburg-Vorpommern) and Stralsund. Beth's great-grandfather was born in Cantnitz in 1839. He had an inn and windmill in Cantnitz. He and his wife emigrated to America in 1873.  Beth also traces her lineage to Franz Wessel, who was mayor of Stralsund in the 17th century. While in Stralsund, they saw the famous "Wesselsche Bibel" (Wessel Bible) printed in 1554 in the Stralsund Archives.
