
From Rostock we traveled on to the Freilichtmuzeums Klockenhagen, the Museum of the Town of Ribnitz-Damgarten. The museum is an open air heritage museum. It has typical examples of local building styles from the 17th to the early 20th century. Included are different farmhouses, a bake house and a trestle windmill.
Site 1: Klockenhagen Farmhouse IX -- A typical hall house for Lower Germany for a farmer between the years of 1600-1900.
Site 3: Klockenhagen Well IX - Well that typically supplied a house like Farmhouse IX.
Site 5: Sieverhagen Baking House - A typical baking house for a farmstead.
Site 6: Völkshagen Cottage - Cottages were smaller living quarters reserved for retired parents or for families of hired workers.
Site 8: Dargelütz Village Church - Built around 1790 in Dargelütz, in the district belonging to the city of Parchim.
Site 11: Strassen Farmhouse - A typical hall that would have belonged to a farmer of the southwest region of Mecklenburg. It has a representative gable.
Site 19: Groß Ernsthof Trestle Mill - Employed as a grain mill up until the middle of the 20th century.
