Pomeranian People. 32, 4 (Winter 2009): 57-62. The story is
from "Christmas in Pomerania" by Edward Kunze. It appeared in
The Riverside Magazine for Young People, December 1867.
It is told in the form of a conversation among children. The
location is not specified, but the context of the story makes it
clear these children lived in a manor house somewhere in
Pomerania. Judging by some of the customs mentioned, it seems
possible the location was an area with Swedish ties.
